About Dave

Hi, I'm Dave and I have been a CPA for over 40 years and have worked as an IT manager, hospital controller, CPA, consultant to foreign governments, and as an accounting educator.  I have a lot of experience and I love to use that experience to help small businesses thrive.  Like most CPAs I have a degree in accounting, but I also earned MBA and PhD degrees in accounting and finance.  

My practice is limited to bookkeeping, payroll, and small business consulting. I don't perform audits, reviews, or other expensive services offered by many CPA firms and this means that I can offer my services to you at a substantial discount.

I was born in Colorado in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, attended college in Washington State, and now call Virginia home. My wonderful wife, Heidi, and I have three sons, all college graduates, and in the little spare time that we have, we enjoy traveling, kayaking and hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

In addition to English I speak fluent, technical Spanish. When we meet you can ask me why.
